Last year I had the great honor of being asked to record a song for a Woody Guthrie compilation album called Home in This World. Woody is a hero of mine for many reasons, but the top two are that he used his words and his guitar to push for a better world, and that he was an Okie like me. His story taught me that you can be from the middle of nowhere and make a difference in the hearts, minds and lives of your fellow humans across the globe. You can hear my version of “Vigilante Man” when it comes out in September, but for now check out The Secret Sisters killer version of “Dust Cain’t Kill Me” ! This record is being released in partnership with Kiss The Ground, a non-profit dedicated to educating the public about restorative agriculture and its importance in ensuring our future and protecting our lands.
The album feature’s songs by some incredibly talented artists - Lee Ann Womack, Shovels & Rope, Waxahatchee, Colter Wall, Watkins Family Hour and more. I am grateful to be a part of it. You can read more about the project HERE.
