Hey y'all.
I had a grand weekend. Thursday I went out to the Farm and got to hang out with some of Red Dirt's finest musicians: Randy Crouch, John Fullbright, John Cooper, Brad Piccolo, Ben Han, Dustin Welch, Donnie Wood, Jesse Aycock, Dustin Pittsley, Chuck Dunlap, Tom Skinner and Mike McClure along with a slew of others who I will probably receive e-mails from for not being in this post. I love you all. Anyway. We stayed up way too late and Randy invited me to help him build geodesic domes.
Friday night I played at Eskimo Joe's with Travis Kidd. A good time indeed. Had to try and remember how to play guitar solos. I don't encounter those too often these days.
On Saturday, Rachel and I met up with Mike in Tahlequah. Tahlequah is a neat little town. A little okie-arkansas arts haven. Green all over and street signs in English and Cherokee. They also love posters. Nearly every store's front window was littered with posters for local music and festivals. AFter consuming an excellent Sam and Ella's pizza, we played to a very welcoming crowd at the Branch. A nice little weekend indeed.
This is my favorite picture from the Red Bull festivities:
